Everyone has their favorite scenes from different Christmas movies or shows. It may bring back a fond memory or it may just be something that makes you crack up every time you see it. I've scoured the Android app market to find some free apps that take these scenes and turn them into ringtones that you can put on your phone.
NOTE: There are other apps out there that provide ringtones for other classic Christmas movies and tv shows such as Elf, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Frosty The Snowman, etc. I didn’t provide info on these apps because they either are NOT free (Bah Humbug!) or require you to install another application in order to work (I think we already have too much to do this holiday season). If you want to give some of these a try, just head over to www.appbrain.com and perform a search.
This is one of my favorite Christmas movies, as it provides some some relief from the non-stop barrage of sappy holiday shows and captures the reality of what most people are really experiencing while getting ready for Christmas. This app provides various sound bites from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation movie. While it would be hard to get all of the great sound bites from this movie, I found a lot of the more classic lines were either missing or cut short, including one of my favorites by Clark Griswald:
“Hey! If any of you are looking for any last-minute gift ideas for me, I have one. I'd like Frank Shirley, my boss, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane with all the other rich people and I want him brought right here, with a big ribbon on his head, and I want to look him straight in the eye and I want to tell him what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit he is! Hallelujah! Holy s@$%! Where's the Tylenol?”The sound quality is mixed with some clips being clear and others not. Also, the volume level seems to fluctuate from clip to clip. Be aware though that this app will copy the audio file to your SD card and does not provide a way to delete the file within the app. To delete, you will have use a file manager such as Astro or connect your phone to your computer and delete it that way. The developer is working on adding a delete function to the app. In the meantime, here is how to delete the file from your computer:
1. Close down the app, and plug your phone into a PC (mount as external disk).
2. Browse to the folders on the device.
\media\audio\ringtones
\media\audio\notifications
\media\audio\alarms
3. Delete the files in those folders.
4. Reboot the phone.
Now the ringtones will be gone from the lists in the phone settings.

A Christmas Story Soundboard by Dream Portal Entertainment (free)
This app has a collection of sound bites from the infamous A Christmas Story movie. Over 80 sound bites are provided and cover most of the classic lines including, “You'll shoot your eye out, kid.” and dialogue from when Flick is triple dog dared to lick the flag pole. Clips are broken into five categories: Narrator, Ralphie, Randy, Family, and Other. Sound quality is good.

A Charlie Brown Holiday Sounds by Dream Portal Entertainment (free)
This app provides sound clips from A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. All of the best known clips from the shows seem to be available, however, the sound quality on some of them seem to be lacking. A list of interesting facts are also provided about the two shows.
